Research & Development in Biomimicry and Sustainability

Resilience design principles, innovation & business

At Greenloop we are continuously developing new tools and methodologies to better help our clients. We select, articulate and operationalize ecosystems functioning principles, in order to help businesses & public bodies become more resilient and sustainable.

Biomimetic research projects

At our own initiative or on request from universities or industrial partners, we create or join research programs & consortia of scientists, putting together biologists & engineers at European, national or regional levels.

Biomimetic carbon capture and storage

The CO2SolStock project was initiated by Greenloop and was granted with a 3 million € fund from the European Commission, under the 7th Framework Program.

Launched in 2009, the project’s objective was to tackle -via the biomimetic approach- the challenge of greenhouse gas emissions trapping, and focused on the development of nature-based processes to enable carbon sequestration via biomineralization.

By the end of the project in 2012, Greenloop and its 5 European university partners delivered various biomineralization strategies, tailored to a diverse range of industrial settings.
